This artisan range represents a journal kept by both nature and winemaker on the Benguela Cove Wine Estate and highlights the unique characteristics of a single vineyard. Layered flavours persist with nuances of white peach, crème brûlée, lemon verbena, granny smith apple and a touch of orange zest to entice the senses.
Joie de Vivre Méthode Cap Classique 2017
Benguela Cove Joie de Vivre 2017 was named one of the top 20 wines in South Africa in 2020, out of 927 competitors. And ultimately made it through to the Top 10 wines, where it won Best Cap Classique in the Perscient Winemag.co.za awards.
The judges’ tasting notes said of Joie de Vivre, which is 64% Chardonnay and 34% Pinot Noir: “A really complex nose – a floral top note before citrus, peach and red apples plus a little vanilla. The palate has excellent fruit definition, a great line of acidity and a fine mousse, the finish long and dry. Disgorged on 8 August 2019 – 30 months on the lees.
