Benguela Cove Catalina Semillon 2017
Only three barrels of Catalina Semillon 2017 were produced. This award-winning maiden vintage of Semillon is made from a 0.9-hectare single vineyard that performs extremely well.
This wine is ethereal and commanding at the same time. It allures with complex aromas of sweet peas, lemongrass, quince, orange blossom, greenage, white lily and fynbos. All these nuances reveal a remarkable fruit purity that lingers on the palate, etched with an oyster shell minerality and integrated acidity.
Benguela Cove Vinography Petit Verdot 2017
The power of this wine lies in its elegance and delicate notes that define a sophisticated red wine. It delivers on a montage of intense red and dark fruit, hemmed with a gentle perfume of lavender, roses and hints of Turkish delight. To balance the fruit, oven baked capsicum, graphite notes and a slight peppery note adds a savoury gloss. The Petit Verdot vineyard performed above expectation with the promise of delivering a wine true to its origin.
Benguela Cove Joie de Vivre Méthode Cap Classique 2014
Our flagship MCC. The French translation of the name - the exuberant enjoyment of life – is exhibited in its vibrant intensity. Made in the traditional French method of producing Champagne, using the same grape varieties. Doused with all the privileges of a cool climate, Walker Bay is synonymous with outstanding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These vineyards were meticulously managed to produce a stellar méthode cap classique, showcasing its location.
Benguela Cove Cuvée58 Méthode Cap Classique NV
With a name that celebrates the facets of a diamond, sauvignon blanc was a clear-cut choice to lead this refreshing MCC. Reflecting the precision that both the diamond cutter and the winemaker apply to their craft; this wine is light yet luminous with enough gravitas to pour at any celebratory occasion. Every bottle is an occasion - before, with or after a meal. Cuvée58 allures with vivid aromas of candied apple, pear and sweet grass. The bright acidity is balanced with a tangy finish, concluded with a fresh floral note.
Benguela Cove Collage 2018
92 Points | Platter’s Wine Guide. Collage is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 62% Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, aged in 45% new wood. Focused, refined and subtle, with good structure and tannic backbone and flavours of mint, capsicum and blackcurrant pastille. 2022-28
Benguela Cove Syrah 2017
Confident and stylish, the wine entices with potpourri, cinnamon, pepper, hints of olive tapenade and a light perfume of sandalwood. Centre to that is a solid mid palate with a rich yet fresh display of fruit set on tightly knit tannins to deliver a long, savoury finish. Nuances of rose petals and bitter-sweet liquorice lingers to add that extra bit of character.
